How SAVE-T® Air Doors/Air Curtains Work

A Save-T Air Door / Air Curtain creates an invisible barrier of high velocity air to separate different environments. Air enters the unit through the intake. It is then compressed by scrolled fan housings and forced through a nozzle which is directed at the open doorway. The system utilizes centrifugal fans mounted on direct driven, dual shafted motors. The result is a uniform air screen across the opening with enough force to stop winds up to 25 mph.

Note: When there is an indraft caused by an exhaust system in the building (negative pressure), the performance of any air door will be heavily affected.

Energy Conservation

Air doors / Air Curtains will work effectively year round and control energy costs by keeping heated and air-conditioned air in the building. In the winter, an air door will recirculate the hot air that naturally rises to the ceiling, while creating a barrier that keeps out the cold air.

In the summer, that barrier works to keep hot, humid air outside where it belongs, while maintaining a cool, comfortable environment inside. When used for energy control the average payback time (in saved energy costs) for an air door is less than two years.
